I finished my project for the week. I'm loving this mini-redwork quilt. The photo doesn't do it justice. I'll try to take a better photo later.
I participated in a Jelly Roll 1600 today at Mulqueens Sewing Center. What a great class. I won third prize ( $10.00 gift certificate). I completed my quilt top in 52 minutes. The winner finished in 48. It was interesting to see how each quilt had it's own unique flavor. I'll post a photo of mine later and describe the experience. Now I'm off the watch the D-back game.

Redwork Quilt Block

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day. We did breakfast with my son's family. Of course, one of the great things about is being a mom is that then you get to be a grandma. I truly enjoy spending time with the two granddaughters.

Fabric Valentine Cards
We are exchanging Fabric Valentines on the Fabric in Altered Arts 2 yahoo group. We are to make three cards and we will be assigned three mailing partners. This is the outside of the card. I haven't decided whether to stamp a message inside or leave blank and add my own greeting. The cards are Photo Frame Cards from Strathmore. I made a little mini quilt (batting and fabric). I quilted around the hearts and then placed inside the frame. Quilt was secured with a decorative multi-stitch zigzag. I continued the stitching to the back of the card. The only requirement for the swap was that we incorporate fabric. Fun swap and thanks to group leader, Cathy, for hosting the swap.

"E" is for Eagle

I'm trying to work ahead a little on my quilties for Fabric in Altered Art 2. We will be on vacation this fall and I wanted to still participate in the quiltie swap. This is my "E" quiltie for October. The eagle was made on my Janome Memory Craft 11000. It is one of the built in designs. I really love my Janome. I've also been making monogramed items the past few weeks using this machine.
I'm seeing a bird theme here in my quilties. So far I've done "B" is for Bird, "D" is for Dove, and now "E" for eagle. Need to think about "F".
