Vintage Quilt Blocks

I recently came across a package of vintage quilt blocks I purchased years ago at an antique store in CA.   I decided it was time to do something with the blocks.  I think the stripes were from a sample book because they had something resembling paste on each one.  I washed the blocks and found that fabric had been cut into 5" squares but they weren't exact.  I used my Accuquilt GO to cut them into 4 1/2" squares.  The GO cuts a perfect square each time.  I then sewed them all together.

I will make them into a quilted tablerunner.  The backing will be a red and white polka dot feed sack fabric which I also purchased an antique store years ago.  I'll post a photo of the finished tablerunner tomorrow.  It will be a hostess gift for a friend I'm visiting later this month.

Pam , those vintage fabrics are to die for. I love the way you are putting the table runner together. I picked up a bag of grandmothers flower garden (I think) hex squares all done and have always wanted to put it together. Maybe this will inspire me. Thanks for your sweet comment about my dolls.

Pam, My little doll was a hand me down from the neighbor across the street. There were 7 kids that lived in a tiny 3 bedroom home with 1 bathroom. One of the older girls was my babysitter and she gave me my dollie and a bag of the cutest clothes ever. I didn't know you could send away for them. Yes , I'd love to see a pic of yours and the clothes. Aren't they the cutest doll clothes? Glad you liked my space-of course it's usually a disaster area. Have a great weekend!

Love all these pretty fabrics. What a great idea to cut them down to size and put them back together again!
